You can also see the various clothing and weaponry options available

Developer and publisher Ubisoft has just launched an online Assassin's Creed Unity minigame that allows gamers to customize the appearance of Arno Dorian, the upcoming action adventure game's protagonist.

If you're interested in giving the tool a spin and start creating your own character, getting accustomed to your options so you can jump right in some mad cooperative action when the game launches, you can do so on the Assassin's Creed Unity website.

Unity is the first game in the Assassin's Creed series that allows players to tackle campaign missions together, and its developers said that the raw power of the Xbox One, PS4 and PC platforms was the main thing that allowed them to implement the changes to the gameplay, that made cooperative multiplayer possible in the stealth-based action adventure title.

As usual, developer Ubisoft Montreal's character designers have done a top notch job capturing the clothing of the era and its unique fashion sense, delivering a stunning rendition of the people living around the time of the French Revolution, with the events in the game set in a magnificently recreated Paris.

The interesting bit about the minigame is that it's tied to a voting system that allows the winner to have their creation featured in a TV spot for the game, that will be aired at a later date.

The minigame shows several different clothing options, such as jacket, trousers and hood, as well as a few of the weapons that players will have access to in the game. The death-dealers are two different swords, two maces and a flintlock pistol, in case you're curious and don't have the time to meddle with the thing yourselves.

In addition to customizing his clothes, you can also choose between four different skin tones for Arno, ranging from white to black, which might mean that the option will also be available in the final version of Assassin's Creed Unity.

Ubisoft has made no mention of this feature being available up to now, and maybe this is their way of hinting at the customization options available in the final game, as otherwise it would be just pointless to include them in the minigame.

We'll keep our ear open for any further mention of the separate clothing parts and character skin tones making it into the finished game, and will come back with any new information on the matter.

Assassin's Creed Unity is currently scheduled to come out on October 28, for the PC, the PlayStation 4 next-gen computer entertainment system from Sony and the Xbox One, the all-in-one console from Microsoft.
