Ubisoft confirms that Assassin's Creed Rogue, one of the two upcoming entries in the action adventure series, will debut for the PC in early 2015, and in order to celebrate the announcement, a special story trailer filled with all sorts of gameplay footage has just appeared.

The Assassin's Creed series has been around for quite some time, and ever since Assassin's Creed 2 first appeared, the series has seen yearly installments on major platforms like PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, not to mention spinoffs for the PS Vita, in the form of Liberation, and other such devices.

This fall, Ubisoft is taking things even further, as it will release not one, but two full-fledged games in the series, in the form of Assassin's Creed Unity for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and Assassin's Creed Rogue for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Rogue is now also set to debut on the PC.

Now, Ubisoft confirms on its Ubiblog that not only will Rogue appear on the last-generation console, but also on the PC, albeit in early 2015, a few months after the PS3 and Xbox 360 debut.

This isn't that surprising, considering Ubisoft did leave the door open for the game to launch on more platforms besides the intended consoles, as it didn’t want fans to miss out on it.

A new video fleshes out Shay's adventures

Still, the company decided to celebrate this new version by rolling out a fresh story trailer for Rogue, detailing just how protagonist Shay Cormac went from a member of the Assassin brotherhood to a fierce Templar knight.

"After a mission for the Brotherhood goes horribly wrong, Assassin Shay Patrick Cormac questions his allegiance to his order. But much like the Templars, the Assassins demand unflinching obedience. As a result of his shaken faith, the Assassins turn their backs on him and try to kill him," Ubisoft explains.

After coming to grips with what happened, Shay wants payback, and after interacting with a few Templars, he starts to see their actual strategy, according to the company.

"He is nursed back to health by a family and given their son’s old clothes – Templar robes. As he works to pay them back for their kindness, he finds himself falling in line with the Templars’ ideals and is set on a path of vengeance. Shay takes it upon himself to destroy the Assassin Brotherhood in North America and the Templars provide him with the means to do so."

Check out the new footage and admire not just the return of old favorites, like Haytham Kenway or Adewale, but also plenty of intense gameplay.
