Patrice Desilets, the creator of the concept on which Assassin’s Creed is based, has been fired by video game publisher Ubisoft only a few months after he rejoined the company coming from THQ.

The developer tells Polygon that, “I was notified of this termination in person, handed a termination notice and was unceremoniously escorted out of the building by two guards without being able to say goodbye to my team or collect my personal belongings.”

Desilets says that he intends to fight Ubisoft for his team, his game project and his rights, although it is not clear what the developer could obtain in court.

The company does not mention anything more than inconclusive discussions with Desilets, again without making clear what project the developer was involved with.

The creator of Assassin’s Creed and another 170 developers were picked up when Ubisoft bought the Montreal THQ studio.
