Ubisoft has just revealed that European members of its special Uplay online service will be getting a free mission for the recently-launched Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, called the Trajan Market.

In case you're not familiar with uPlay, the service is Ubisoft's attempt at creating an online network that unlocks special items or features for players in exchange for points they get when completing certain tasks in the game.

The service started with Assassin’s Creed 2, and was supported by other games after that, like Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.

Now, European members of the service have received a special treat, in the form of the Trajan Market bonus mission, which was previously only available to those that purchased the special Codex Edition of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.

The mission sends hero Ezio Auditore into a marketplace in the center of Rome, where the action of the whole game takes place.

At that location, Ezio will fight against guards of the evil Borgia family and discovers a treasure hidden in the ruins of an old tower around the market.

Ubisoft is already sending out codes to unlock the single-player mission to European Uplay members, both on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms, so keep checking the service for a chance to experience the new mission.

Until then, you can already enjoy the first piece of free downloadable content for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, in the form of the Animus Project Update 1.0, which brings a new map and a new multiplayer mode.

Until Update 2.0 appears, at the beginning of new year, players can still try and reach the special 25 million kills milestone, which will unlock the Rome by Night map for the aforementioned multiplayer mode.

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood was launched in November for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, while a PC version is set to appear at the beginning of 2011, probably around February.
