Assassin's Creed 5, the next chapter in Ubisoft's action adventure series, has been leaked, as a supposedly official press release has surfaced online, revealing that the game takes place in the industrial revolution and that it will debut for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 4.

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag marked a great comeback for the series, and you can bet that Ubisoft is already putting the final touches on this year's installment.

Now, according to a leak on Reddit, a press release with details about the next game in the franchise has appeared, confirming that Assassin's Creed V is launching soon for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The press release, dated for March 4, reveals that the new game has been in development for three years as a joint project between Ubisoft Montreal and Toronto, with help from regional studios like Annecy, Quebec, and Montpellier.

The description also confirms that it takes place in the industrial revolution, focusing on an entrepreneur called Samuel Fey.

"In the events of the ongoing Industrial Revolution, Assassin’s Creed V follows the story of Samuel Fey, as he enters the Assassin Order in a time of change and Templar rule. Fey is a successful and respectful entrepreneur, who works outside the corrupt law to guarantee the security of his own and others’ futures."

"Taking place during the closing years of the Industrial Revolution in Victorian London, players will explore all new locales as they uncover the truth behind the hidden ongoing rebellion."

The mechanics of the game are also highlighted, with overhauled stealth and combat mechanics.

"Assassin’s Creed V is the turning point for the franchise, featuring completely revised stealth and combat mechanics, powered by the next-generation Ubisoft AnvilX engine and all-new gameplay features and systems. While Assassin’s Creed acts as Ubisoft’s rescope for the franchise, it maintains the key touch points that the series is built upon."

Take this leak with a grain of salt, however, as it does seem a bit farfetched. Even so, last year's Black Flag was also leaked before its reveal.
