A bunch of new details have appeared concerning Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, this time relating to gameplay details such as exploration, the mechanics of naval combat, as well as different other aspects, like storms on the open sea.

Assassin's Creed 4 promises to deliver an evolution for the action adventure series, as it focuses much more on naval exploration and warfare than on the regular gameplay of the franchise, which relied on traveling through cities on foot or on horse.

After sharing a few more details and posting some fresh videos or screenshots with Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Ubisoft has revealed lots of new info on its UbiBlog.

Many aspects of the core gameplay are discussed, including the naval warfare and how players need to be quite careful when maneuvering their ship, the Jackdaw, during storms.

What's more, players can explore all sorts of locations, like Mayan Ruins or playas, each with different hidden goodies.

Check out the full list of details below.

- You can hire crew and play minigames at taverns. You can also drink. - There’s plenty of money to be made selling rum. If you sell it “properly,” that is. - A few improvements to the naval combat: Use the front cannons to shoot chain shot to slow down ships. Aiming for the hull with round shot will do a lot of damage. The swivel gun is great to mow down some of the enemy crew when you’re about to board. - Those uncharted little landforms where Edward finds the treasure map are called playas, and there are over 75 of them. Each of them has something important for the player to find to help upgrade Edward or the Jackdaw. - Storms are dangerous, and not just to the Jackdaw. You risk not only taking damage to the ship but losing crew members if you don’t know how to navigate through them. Especially waterspouts – which can tear apart a ship. - On the flip side, there’s a strategic advantage to storms. Once you’re comfortable navigating a storm, you can pull a pursuing enemy into one to soften them up. - Mayan ruins offer great playgrounds for stealth and navigational exploration, with lots of treasures and hidden discoveries to be found. - When you synchronize a location, it also becomes a fast-travel point.

Assassin's Creed 4 is out this fall for PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
