Gameloft just announced the launch of "Assassin's Creed", the mobile game based on Ubisoft's critically acclaimed new franchise console title. This brings intense action and hours of mobile fun for its players.

The game's action is set in Jerusalem, 1191 A.D., when the Third Crusade is tearing apart the Holy Land. In this circumstance, the player takes on the role of an elite assassin, sent to kill leaders on both sides of the conflict in order to end the Third Crusade. "Assassin's Creed" has some surprises prepared, as there are things left to discover and dangerous situations to face.

Gameloft counts on the mix of riddles, exploration, adventure and amazing combat scenes to make this game a highly popular one. In fact, the developer looks pretty confident on the game's high potential and has the console version as proof for it.

"Assassin's Creed" impresses through its high number of acrobatic moves and fight with impressive combos mixing sword skills & kicks. Moreover, there are several medieval weapons for close combat and long-range attacks to choose from, as well as combos that mix sword skills, strikes and kicks, which adds even more diversity to each battle. The player can choose between acrobatic and free-running with an intense manhunt on horseback, available only in the mobile version of the game.

There are 13 missions, overall, to be completed. For this, the player can interact with people and objects and explore four vivid environments in the Holy Land. There are also several bonuses to obtain, after solving riddles and completing specific tasks. The mobile game stays true to the original console storyline and its interest for historical detail, which might just make it worthy of a similar popularity.

The mobile game of Assassin's Creed is available now for purchase at most U.S. carriers. You can enjoy a demo video of the game below.
