Assassin's Creed was one of the most intriguing games to appear in the last few years, largely because it was host to a lot of new concepts and gameplay mechanics that, even though they were a bit repetitive, were welcomed with open arms by gamers and critics alike.

Now, with the sequel gearing up for its release, the franchise sees an even bigger hype around it. In an effort to calm people down but at the same time assure them that Assassin's Creed 2 will be a much better game, the producer, Sebastien Puel, has revealed that the team of developers working on it has tripled in number as opposed to the original, reaching 450 members.

“The team's size for the second title of Assassin's Creed 2 is about three times the size of the team of the first game,” Puel says. Making Assassin's Creed from A to Z took around four years. It's a very good thing we are keeping most of the core members who envisioned the first Assassin's Creed. They know the project very well.”

But even though this bigger team may seem much better, the original developers, while working on the first game, had “thousands of ideas” according to Puel, which sadly didn't make it into the final project. Now though, as the franchise already has its name well established, a lot of them can reach the gamers in this future title.

Look forward to more details about Assassin's Creed 2 as E3 draws close, alongside the end of the year when the game will be released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Until then, you can enjoy the two teaser videos and the few details we managed to find out.
