Demi and Ashton were, at one point, considered one of the strongest couples in showbiz despite the fact that their marriage was a December-May one.
Cheating rumors started making the rounds and were eventually confirmed when he was busted cheating on her precisely on their 6th wedding anniversary.
Since then, they have been duking it out in court, with several insiders claiming that Demi is holding back the divorce proceedings by asking for spousal support from Ashton even though she’s worth more than him.
This is the context one needs to understand why the video of them together at the airport is causing such waves online right now.
The scene was the Burbank Airport, where they were spotted by paparazzi after boarding the same flight after a tech conference in San Jose, CA.
“That seemed like a coincidence but the surprise was that they flew back on the same plane and seemed cordial, if not friendly,” TMZ notes.
Ashton and Demi were in an intense conversation, apparently about one of his projects. At one point, he can be heard saying, “It could really work.”
However, neither is willing to talk to the paparazzi, be it about their ongoing divorce or about all those reports saying they have gotten to a point where they can’t see eye to eye anymore because of money issues.
Just this week, for instance, one particular rumor claimed that Ashton and current girlfriend Mila Kunis were extremely upset that Demi was holding back the divorce because they were in a rush to get married.
