Ashton Kutcher started off as a model and has since branched out from acting into several other, very successful business areas. He now has his sights set on going back into fashion, and he’s lobbying with all the big designers to land an endorsement deal.

It’s not that he needs the money, but he’s determined to erect himself into a fashion icon, insiders reveal for Radar Online. He’s “obsessed with his looks and style,” more so than he’s ever been before, they claim.

“He’s spending a fortune every month on the latest and most expensive designer looks because he wants to land a big fashion deal. Ashton is shopping himself to the biggest designers on the planet because he wants to become the face of a big brand and commit to it for a number of years,” says one such unnamed insider.

He wouldn’t be selling himself for peanuts either, dreaming of landing a very successful – not just long-term – endorsement deal.

“Ashton realizes that he’s been wasting time and money not becoming a deeper player in fashion and he’s finally starting to get serious about marketing himself to these entities. He wants to remind people how knowledgeable he is about the world of fashion and modeling from his very earliest days in show business,” the source explains.

Best case scenario, adds the same insider, Ashton will land a 5-year fashion deal with a huge brand for $10 million (€7.2 million).

Described as “one of the most vain and self-centered people in Hollywood,” Ashton would probably fare better in fashion than rapper Kanye West, all his designing efforts aside. He too is trying to turn himself into a fashion icon but, so far, he’s had very little luck.

Not only did he proclaim himself the one who made leather jogging pants a “thing” (which they are, as he sees it), but he’s also verbally attacked several huge brands for refusing to sign him, including Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Nike. He’s not making too many friends in the industry, that much is clear.
