14 DAY TRIAL // When Ashton Kutcher proposed to Mila Kunis, presumably sometime in February, he already had her father’s blessing because he had asked him for it as early as Christmas, insiders close to the couple reveal for People magazine.
This time, the handsome “Two and a Half Men” star seems determined to do things by the book so, first things first, he wanted to keep the tradition that says that you must first ask for a woman’s hand from her father and only afterwards propose to her.
“He talked with Mila’s dad around Christmastime. He asked for Mark’s blessing to marry her. It was important to Ashton to be respectful and traditional. This is the real thing for him and he wants to do it all right,” an insider reveals for the magazine.
Word that Mila and Ashton were engaged got out when she was photographed by the paparazzi with a giant diamond ring on the engagement finger a short while ago. Other reports claim that the ring wasn’t actually new and that Ashton had popped the question a few weeks before, but that Mila had chosen to keep the secret for a while longer to be able to enjoy the moment in peace.
The two, who actually played lovers on the hit sitcom “That ‘70s Show,” started dating shortly after his 6-year marriage to Demi More came to a screeching halt in another cheating scandal, after he was busted sleeping with a woman he had picked up in a bar right on his and Demi’s wedding anniversary.
Fans had been hoping he and Mila would eventually walk down the aisle and, while they’re mum on the topic (just as they are on the topic of the engagement), another insider reveals for People that the wedding will take place this year.
“They don’t want to wait. This relationship started on solid ground and everything is working out. They are in it for the long haul, truly,” gushes the spy.
More on how Mila and Ashton were destined to be together, from a different unnamed source: “They are clearly very much in love, in tune with each other and so comfortable. In some ways, it’s like they’re married already.”
It’s true that they might as well be married already, from what we can make from paparazzi shots of them together: they have been living together for some time, and often do a lot of their errands hand in hand, whether that means walking the dog, hitting the gym, or going out for a walk or a bite to eat.
