Between tomorrow (November 17) and next Friday (November 22), a supercomputing conference will take place in Denver, Colorado. It is there that Asetek will demo a certain, quite peculiar invention.

More precisely, it will show the worth of the RackCDU hot water liquid cooling systems for HPC (high-performance computing) data centers.

Hot water cooling, or rather warm water cooling, can substitute for Computer Room Air Conditioners (CRAC) and reduce cooling costs by 80% while cutting costs by the same amount.

In a nutshell, the water may be warm, but it is still significantly cooler than the heat generated by hardware.

Thus, with it's possible to keep heat in check while reducing or completely removing the need for coolant chillers, hence the savings.

Asetek will also showcase D2C liquid-cooled servers form Cray, Cisco, HP, Intel, Super Micro, etc.
