A team of Beijing-based installation artists exhibited a deeply personal piece of art by recreating the ideal vision of the afterlife, viewed through a mother's eyes.

Sunyuan and Pengyu have been creating unique artwork since the '90s and this year decided to honor Pengyu's mother with an exhibit hosted at the Paris' Galerie Perrotin that represented the woman's unique view on the afterlife. Entitled “Dear,” the exhibition's main piece was made in the memory of the artist’s deceased mother.

The woman's personal views were recorded in a video interview, in which she talked about what she is hoping to see on the other side. Not only did she believe in a unique environment of the afterlife, but she was a supporter of the rebirth beliefs and was looking forward to her reincarnation.

The courageous woman admitted death was mostly a psychological issue; it is fear, and she did not fear, because she believed in reincarnation. She also believed she would not come back as a creature of the land, bound to the ground, but that she would fly and experience what freedom really was. These exact ideas were taken by the two artists and transformed into an amazing installation, notes Rocket News.

The physical representation has a certain something that gives it that fantastic touch and the emotion left by a departed soul. The artist's mother is placed in mid-air, surrounded by flowers and flying creatures, exactly like she wanted.

The face of the woman's recreation presents a unique calmness as she peacefully holds on to the flying sea-creatures, while in the other hand she is grasping flowers. The birds and sea creatures surrounding her are either stuffed or made out of fiber glass.

The installation of the woman's unique view on the afterlife would have for sure made Pengyu's mother proud. Her child decided to honor her in the best way she knew, through art, and the result is quite overwhelming.
