New game related law

The United States is probably one of the few countries which has kept its distance regarding the game violence issues, even if it there were a lot of scandals (most of them provoked by Rockstar with its GTA series). They have somehow managed to get outraged by this inappropriate game content (like sex and violence) and still do "nothing".

Well that's about to change. California State Assembly has approved Lelenad Yee law which limits the kids' access to violent games. This legislative initiative has suddenly gathered a bunch of other organizations: California Academy of Pediatricians, Commission on the Status of Women, California Psychiatric Association, California Psychological Association, NAACP, California Alliance Against Domestic Violence, Girl Scouts and California PTA.

Now, the law is in... Arnold Schwarzenegger's hands. He is responsible for some very violent movies and a lot of inspired games. We all agree that children access has to be restricted, but not by censorship. We hope he realizes that once you go on that road there's is no turning back.
