Arnold Schwarzenegger wants wife Maria back, is determined to change for her, says report

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver announced their separation earlier this week but, while reports suggest that Maria is determined to pull the plug on the 25-year marriage, Arnold is determined to do everything in his power to win his wife back.

As we also informed you the other day, word has it that the split was a long time coming, with Maria first deciding to walk out on Arnold back in 2009, after years of feeling neglected and being cheated on.

Now, TMZ claims to have it on good authority that Arnold has already changed his (wicked) ways, in a bid to win his wife’s affections once more – and it might just be working.

“We’re told Arnold finally gets it... that Maria couldn’t stand the fact that he was ignoring her and her needs. And, we’re told, Arnold has made some headway, making Maria ‘ambivalent’ at times,” TMZ writes.

“Arnold has done a 180. He’s been really sweet to her since all this went down,” an unnamed source close to the couple reveals for the publication.

In other words, it took Maria some years to walk out on Arnold by moving out of the house, but he reacted immediately to it – and is already trying to make amends.

“Notably, they recently spent an evening at an L.A. area hotel for a special occasion. Maria is confessing to friends... Arnold has emotional power over her, but as we first reported, she’s been ‘miserable’ for several years,” TMZ says.

A source says for the same publication that, most of the time, Shriver is confused about what to do because she and Arnold have great chemistry and love each other, but she feels she’s not happy with him because he often takes her for granted.

In a speech made after the announcement of the official separation (however, divorce papers have not yet been filed), Arnold professed his love for Maria and expressed some hope that they might still save their marriage.

“We both love each other very much. We’re very fortunate to have four extraordinary children. And we’re taking it one day at a time,” the former Cali governor said, as per People magazine.
