Arnold Schwarzenegger is really relaunching his acting career in a big way. He’s just been confirmed for a role in “The Legend of Conan,” in which he’s supposed to reprise the role of the barbarian that first appeared in the 1982 film. Conan will be just as old as Arnold, Chris Morgan, co-producer on the film, says in a statement cited by Oh No They Didn’t.
“I always loved the Conan character and I'm honored to be asked to step into the role once again. I can't wait to work with Universal and the great team of Fredrik Malmberg and Chris Morgan to develop the next step of this truly epic story,” Schwarzenegger himself gushes.
Hopefully, “The Legend of Conan” will fare better with both fans and critics than the Arnold-less “Conan” of last year, with Jason Momoa as leading man.
“The Legend of Conan” is eyed for a tentative release in the summer of 2014.
