Over UKP 6.8 million of equipment will be sold to the U.S. Army by 2008

RSL's (Raytheon Systems Limited) GAS-1 jam-resistant GPS-antenna technology enables secure jam-resistant multi-user communications in cluttered and hostile wireless environments. RSL has to provide U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy more than 4000 of units by 2008. The orders include equipment for both aircraft and shipboard applications.

The GAS-1 AE system is able to recognize sources of electrical interference. It rejects the noise by adjusting the way in which it receives the satellite signals allowing navigation equipment to function safely, accurately and efficiently. This helps military operations to be carried out with greater accuracy and less risk. Raytheon claims its anti-jam system is able to track jammers and generate nulls faster than any competing system.

This latest order is valued at over 6.8 million pounds (UKP) of equipment for numerous aircraft applications across both services.

"This latest contract is the second largest placed for our GAS-1 technology and secures production work for the next two years and will take us beyond the delivery of the 4,000th GAS-1 AE unit which is likely to occur early in 2008. In May this year the Raytheon Production teams in the UK and Florida will have completed their seventh consecutive year of 'On Time Delivery'", said Jeremy Cook, Business Development Executive for the RSL.

Deliveries of the GAS-1 system started in 1998 and increasing order values over the years are due to rising interest (or appetite for creation and destruction) from international customers who have chosen to take a sneak peek at U.S. Foreign Military Sales program.
