A man has been rescued in a train station in Atlanta after falling down the tracks in a subway station.

Former Army Major Kenneth Hunter can be seen in the video above falling off the platform and onto his side.

Other passengers notice him plummet onto the tracks and rally to help him. According to 11 Live, an eastbound train was about to arrive in the station.

Hunter was also in danger of getting electrocuted upon touching the third rail. Passenger Rob Roberts tried reaching for him and taking his hand, but the man was unable to grab it.

"I didn't know when I came down if the power had been cut or not. I just saw a patron in distress,"

The incident took place in the Five Points Station in Downtown Atlanta, at 5:00 p.m. Officials say that 50-year-old Hunter of Decatur had been drinking before stumbling onto the tracks.
