Since everybody these days, from supermarket giants to chip-producing companies, is making tablets, why shouldn't we see country-specific slates pop up, as well?

Following this line of thought, Armenian officials announced the ArmTab, a joint Armenian / American endeavor under the patronage of Technology and Science Dynamics, reports Eurasia Net.

The tablet will come in 7.85-inch, 9-inch, 9.7-inch and 10.1-inch variants and some of the models will be sporting 3G out of the box.

Nothing much is known about the specs customers are going to find inside, but with an expected $200 – $280 / €145 – €204 price tag, we can speculate a Cortex A7 quad-core will be used to power the product. 16GB of internal storage are reportedly going to be offered onboard.

Interestingly, the assembly process will take place in the US and Hong Kong, while the software design and tech support teams will be located in Armenia. The tablets will be shipped out, starting next year.
