Bohemia Interactive announced the release of its latest project's second campaign. Arma 3's second single-player chapter will be available as free DLC starting January 21, 2014.

Arma 3 is a tactical first-person shooter set in the mid-2030s, following NATO forces' deployment in the Greek islands in an attempt to hold off a strong Iranian military offensive from the east.

The game released on Steam on September 12, following six months of alpha and beta testing, and has its single-player campaign divided into 3 chapters, Survive, Adapt and Win, of which only the first was initially available.

Players take the role of a regular American soldier participating in a peacekeeping mission, and witness as events take a turn for the worse, as CVG reports.

The second chapter, titled Adapt, will continue where the first chapter left off, with players once again filling the shoes of Corporal Ben Kerry.

“While the first part of the campaign focused on the basics of infantry combat, this second 'Adapt' episode plays with the other cool features of Arma 3's sandbox,” said Arma 3 Playable Content Lead Jaroslav Kasny.

"Players will find more open and unorthodox scenarios, and with the help of guerrilla warfare, set out to defeat a much stronger enemy," he continued in the official announcement.

Arma 3's second chapter will also introduce new sandbox content in the form of three additional vehicles, black versions of the MX rifle family, infra-red grenades and the LRPS sniper scope. The new content will be made available via an automatic Steam update ahead of the chapter's release, on December 11.

In even more good news, Bohemia Interactive plans to treat players with special holiday discounts on its online store. Titles featured are the Steam versions of Arma 2, Arma Tactics and Arma 3.

The discounts range from 25 percent up to an incredible 80 percent for the Steam version of Arma 2: Complete Collection.
