Bohemia Interactive, the developer behind the initial Operation Flashpoint that is now working on the ArmA franchise, has announced that it has delivered, just in time for some monumental gaming sessions, the 1.57 patch for ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead, fixing a lot of issues that players have encountered in the game while also delivering 4 new free single player missions.

The 1.57 patch fixes problems with some missions in ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead and also improves the way scripting commands are used.

You can get the new patch from Softpedia.

There are also changes made to the local netcode that are supposed to make the video game more stable in multiplayer sessions.

The new included maps are:

Infiltration – the player will need to practice his sneaking skills as he takes out an rocket artillery test site; Reaction – the gamer controlled forces need to be cautious as they explore a mist covered land to recover clients who have gone missing; Provision – players will need to resupply United States troops in the center of the country via aircraft, all the while threatened by ground based enemy forces; Showcase – this mission is designed to allow gamers to see what the newly introduced Private Military Company faction has to offer.

Bohemia Interactive warns players that once the patch is applied to their ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead installation it cannot be rolled back, which means that gamers who would like to use a previous version for mods or something else will need to make a clean reinstall of the game.

ArmA 2 and its Operation Arrowhead expansion are well known for the attention to detail they deliver and are best enjoyed in cooperative mode, with gamers aiming to stay as close to actual military operations as possible when they tackle a scenario.

Bohemia Interactive has stated that it will continue to deliver new content for its military shooter.
