14 DAY TRIAL // Convicted Cleveland kidnapper Ariel Castro has been found dead in his prison cell, reports say.
According to Global News, his body was found by prison officials at 9:20 p.m. yesterday. He was detained at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, Ohio at the time.
Castro allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself. He was alone in the cell and has been separated from other inmates over security concerns.
He was still alive when guards discovered him. Medical staff in the jail tried to revive him and he was transported to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was declared dead at 10:52 p.m.
As I documented, Castro's trial ended in August with an admission of guilt and a life in prison plus 1,000 years sentence.
