14 DAY TRIAL // On the outside, Cleveland kidnapping suspect Ariel Castro was a good neighbor and all around normal guy.
Residents in the area where he kept Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus often had barbecues with him.
However, some did notice something off about Castro's secretive nature. According to the Hollywood Gossip, a relative mentions the suspect never letting people inside his home.
"He'd never have anyone come over. [...] He'd never had [a] social life unless they were outside on the porch or something, as far as I know," Juan Alicea says.
He added that Castro didn't have many friends, while the kidnapper's uncle noted that he had something of a “dark side.” Those that knew him have told authorities that he loved children and played the bass guitar.
As I reported, Ariel's brothers, Onil, 50 and Pedro, 54 – pictured above – have also been detained in relation to the kidnappings. There is no news of how they have been involved in the case at this point.
