MTV premiered the official music video for “Bang Bang” hours after the awards gala, but for a while, only fans in the US could access it. It’s now been released on YouTube as well, and you will find it available below in full and in HD.
It’s just what you’d expect from it: Ariana and Jessie are killer dames in their respective worlds, and Nicki is the queen of hers. When the three meet, they rule the world and dancing ensues. There isn’t much by means of a concept behind the video, unless you count ogling gorgeous young women in tiny outfits try on their most sensual poses as one.
This is so you know to go into it with the right kind of expectations.
At the VMAs, Nicki got a lot of attention, not just for twerking but also because she showed up on stage with her dress unzipped, as if she didn’t have the time to put it on properly or had suffered some wardrobe malfunction on her way in.
Word has it that the whole “malfunction” moment was staged to boost interest in the performance. With the video dropping so shortly after the live show, it’s no wonder they pulled all the stops for that to happen. By the way, in the video, all of Nicki’s clothes are in place.
