A snob that protects the environment, cultivates his brain and has aesthetic sense

Word on the web is that Mac owners/users are perfectionists, pay to download their music, purchase "green" products and care about the environment, own a hybrid car, are intellectually curious and buy about 5 pairs of sneakers in a year. And how is that a bad thing...?

Sure, there are snobs among the mac owner population, just like with every community. And why shouldn't they be a little proud? After all, they did go with something different. That doesn't necessarily make them arrogant or self centered. Anyway, this nice video by The Street, that characterizes Mac users as "snobs," is actually based on research by Mindset Media. According to the latter, Mac owners are more likely: to be perfectionists, to use notebooks, to drive station wagons, to use teeth whitening products, to pay for downloaded content, to care about the environment and even to go to Starbucks.

While some of the mentioned characteristics are indeed those found with most Mac users (the "green" thing, the hybrid car and paying for downloaded music in particular), the rest of the stuff makes absolutely no sense to me referred to as snob-like things. Being intellectually curious makes you a snob???

Ok then, let's all be snobs! What do you say? Let's all be snobs starting today and:

- care for the environment (buy green products, drive a hybrid car); - consider our health and the way we look (the teeth thing, the sneaker thing); - set an example for future generations that may or may not use a Mac - it's totally up to them (being intellectually curious); - of course, buy downloaded content...

...which, as stupid as it may sound, is actually a great way to repay the artist for his/her great performance that delights your senses. Think they don't deserve that? Ok, use illegal means to download stuff and let nature, er... human nature take its course. We've done a great job at it this far, so why don't we just keep it up?

Ok, here's the video below (by The Street.com). Enjoy!
