Arduboy is a wearable you can play Tetris on

Even if Android Wear made a huge splash when it was launched, there aren’t a whole lot of games to play on your smartwatch even if the app ecosystem has been growing at a fast rate.

A few months ago I told you about SWIP3, which is the first game to have been designed especially for wearables. But what if you crave for more, specifically what if you crave playing a good old classic like Tetris?

To my knowledge, Tetris hasn't made it to any smartwatches out there, albeit they are running Tizen or Android. Anyhow, the problem might be solved by a new wearable prototype called Arduboy.

This bracelet or smartwatch is actually a demo version, so you shouldn't expect to be able to play a fully-fledged version of Tetris. The videos below will show you how a game of Tetris might go about on such a wearable, but there are few things that stand out.

For example, the fact that the display is actually made up of multiple parts might be a hindrance when playing the game and trying to adjust the pieces.

The wearable is made up by multiple OLED modules and you can even spot its touch-sensitive circuits. The super flexible design also stands out.

The wearable goes by the name of Arduboy, which makes my mind jump to something like “Gameboy.”

The circuit board pumping life into the wearable is powered by Arduino. Even if the Arduboy is a prototype for the moment, in time its design will be improved and maybe it will be launched on the market as a stand-alone product.
