Arctic Cooling has been selling Accelero Xtreme series VGA coolers for a while now, and it seems that it drew on all the experience it accumulated in order to show off its newest model, the Accelero Xtreme Plus, which supports the latest NVIDIA cards and can handle thermal loads of up to 250W.

Though it has not exactly issued a press release to trumpet the appearance of this new cooler, Arctic Cooling definitely put up a detailed product page, fitting for what it calls an “effective inaudible cooling solution, for users to replace those stock coolers.”

For one, this cooler is compatible with the mounting plates of some of the older Accelero Series models, making it suitable for GeForce 9/GTS 200 series adapters, as well as VR001 mounting kits.

Nevertheless, the more important aspect is that the Plus supports the latest video boards unleashed by NVIDIA.

As such, it should be able to drive temperatures lower for any card based on the GF100 graphics processing unit, such as the GeForce GTX 480 and the GTX 470.

As far as the design goes, the heatsink measures 290 L x 104 W x 56 H mm, weighs 622 grams and is composed of three main parts.

A GPU contact made of copper draws the heat out of the chip, heat which is then led away through five copper heatpipes, until it reached the two blocks of aluminum fins.

Said blocks are chilled by a trio of 92 mm fans with a patented color shroud design, which reduce the noise generated by them.

For those interested in numbers, the fans have rotary speeds of between 800 RPM and 2,000 RPM.

Finally, the package contains, in addition to the main heatsink, extra heatsinks for the VRM and memory chips.

As for pricing, Arctic Cooling is selling the newcomer for US$65.95, or 54.95 Euro.
