If you are looking for a faster than average Android tablet that won’t break your bank, Archos has you covered with the Turbo edition of the Archos 101 G9 that has now popped up on Woot! for $279.99 (210 EUR).

Compared to the 1.2GHz version that is available from most retailers out there, the Turbo model swaps this SoC for a faster clocked 1.5GHz dual-core processor.

As you would expect, this makes the tablet slightly faster than before, and means that the Archos 101 G9 Turbo is one of the first devices to ship with a 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 processor.

Apart from the 1280x800 screen and the 8GB of storage space, Archos’ tablet also packs a built-in GPS, a microSD card slot, mini-HDMI output and a built-in battery that is said to deliver 7 hours of continuous video playback.

WiFi and Bluetooth are also standard and the tablet runs the 3.2 version, aka Honeycomb, of the Android OS, with ICS being expected to arrive soon.

If all this sounds just about right to you, make sure to head to Woot! before the offer expires.
