Archlord 2 will be starting its closed beta test in June, and developer Webzen has already started the registration process for it.

Archlord 2 is a fantasy role-playing game with a strong medieval flavor, taking place in the world of Chantra, a wondrous setting plagued by the never-ending conflict between the game's two opposing factions, the Azuni and the Chunn.

Webzen has revealed some new information about the upcoming sequel to its popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game, detailing the classless character system that will allow players to assume any role in combat, depending on the type of weapon they have equipped.

The decision to offer a classless character progression system was taken in order to provide a challenging but unrestricted environment to the game's players, developer Webzen's intent being to not rob anyone of any of the possible ways they could experience the world of Archlord 2.

There are four different types of weapons in Archlord 2, in accordance with the possible combat roles players can have during engagements.

Equipping a weapon corresponding to a certain archetype will give players access to a range of appropriate skills. Using the weapon over time will build proficiency with that archetype and allow players access to additional active and passive skills to deploy in combat.

In addition to the modification to the character system, Archlord 2 will also introduce an exciting change to the combat dynamic, with the chained skills mechanic.

Chained skills can only be used in conjunction with each other, in a pre-set order, as combo attacks during combat.

Players will be able to initiate a combo by using the first skill in the chain, and each successful attack will enable the next skill to be used, for a certain amount of time.

Chained skills will allow players to inflict an immense amount of damage to both monsters and other players but will also demand perfect timing and skill deploying the right order of attacks.

The Archlord 2 community management team is currently working on the game's official wikia page, to be updated with the latest about the combat system and available archetypes.

The registration for Archlord 2's closed beta test is open on the game's website, and existing Archlord players are encouraged to use their current account to opt in, which will guarantee them a spot in the closed beta test, provided they logged into the game at least once in the last three months.
