The news regarding Trion Worlds localizing its massively multiplayer online role playing game ArcheAge has been around the web for some months now.

In January, we reported that the work on the Korean MMO was almost done, and that it was starting an internal alpha testing phase.

The game is considered one of the contenders for World of Warcraft’s crown, and developer XL Games has described it using the “sandpark” moniker, stating that it is a hybrid experience between an open-world environment and a tailored, theme-park style of experience.

For players who can’t wait for the game to hit beta and who want to join in the fun right now, Trion Worlds has offered an enticing option: by purchasing an ArcheAge Founder Pack, you can get access to the game’s alpha right now.

Founder packs are nothing new in the MMO world, with many games offering such packages for purchase, pre-orders usually entailing some sort of early access to the game, such as a free pass for the beta, in addition to various in-game rewards.

In the case of ArcheAge, the Archeum Founder’s Pack will net you a nice new cloak, some pet healing potions, the ability to place your own crest inside the game, the Desert Assassin plate mail set, a mount and other various in-game benefits, in addition to a four day head start.

The best thing about it, however, is that it also gives you guaranteed access to both the ArcheAge alpha and beta tests, all that for just $150 / €108.

The Founders will get various Patron perks and bonuses, in addition to a considerable head start in the upcoming adventure.

There are of course packages that don’t cost as much, for those who don’t want to fork out this kind of cash, but they will only open up access to the upcoming massively multiplayer online role playing game’s beta, in addition to a much more meager offering of in-game goodies.

One of the new things ArcheAge brings to the MMO genre is the inclusion of naval combat, in a setting that has players competing for securing trade routes and engage in sea-land battles, expanding the traditional avenues for PvP interaction.

Furthermore, players can found cities and enemies can either destroy their buildings or even capture them for themselves, and the game’s crafting system also brings an unprecedented level of complexity to the playing field.

ArcheAge’s beta test is currently scheduled to start sometime later this year, at a yet undisclosed date.
