Chinese photographic accessories manufacturer Aputure has announced in a recent press release the availability of a new Halo LED ring flash under the Amaran brand.

The company was founded in 2005 and it's specialized in triggers, flash guns, LED lights, remotes, battery grips, video rigs and other studio lighting and photo accessories.

Using a brand new LED color rendering technology, the AHL-H100 ring flash comes with 100 high color rendering index (CRI 95+) LEDs distributed evenly in a compact ring flash that provides double the output of the previous model.

The color rendering index (CRI) provides exact measurements for the capabilities of a light source to reproduce colors faithfully in comparison with a natural light source.

Having a high CRI is desirable in various photographic and cinematographic projects where color is critical to accurately represent or reproduce a scene (nature, medical or scientific macro photography).

The new Amaran Halo H100 is world's first ring flash to have a CRI of 95+, which allows it to reproduce colors with an extreme accuracy.

In addition to that, the AHL-H100 comes with full and half mode for both ambience and flash light giving you the possibility to create unlimited lighting setups for creative shooting sessions.

Furthermore, Amaran AHL-H100 is compatible with most flash triggers and comes with eight lens adapter rings designed to fit all types of lenses including: Φ49, 52, 55, 58, 62, 67, 72 and 77mm.

The ring flash also features an AF-assist lamp that will be triggered when pressing the shutter button half way, making focusing much easier in low light conditions.

At the same time, the brightness wheel comes with three levels (one-quarter, half and full) that allow you to easily control brightness output depending on the distance to your subject.

That being said, the Amaran AHL-H100 is now available for purchase at a price of $49 / €36.
