No new products are expected as Apple didn’t even bother to keep it secret

People who are privy of Apple’s short-term plans in the United States say the company scheduled a nation-wide event with retail staffers with all-hands-on-deck meetings around June 24.

Going by the date leaked by people familiar with Apple’s plans, the event will occur during the weekend, which longtime Apple Retail staffers are well accustomed to.

One Boston store in particular is reportedly seeking a proper venue for the event, a theater capable of housing more than 200 employees. This particular meeting will reportedly take place between 8pm and 11pm Eastern Standard Time (EST).

This person allegedly added that the corporate meeting would include “a presentation utilizing a projector, audio for the presenter and also computer hookup/audio.”

AppleInsider points out that such meetings are not a novelty at Apple, and that previous gatherings have been kept under wraps. In this respect, it is believed this company-wide event may not yield any new products and services.

The purpose of the meetings may well be the arrival of John Browett from European retailer Dixon's who became Apple’s senior vice president of retail in January. He only recently began to tend to his chores, according to reports.

But Browett is already leaving his mark on the company’s retail division. One recent change he made was to offer staffers raises a few months earlier.

He had previously sent out a letter to all retail employees stating that he plans to meet everyone personally, as time goes by.

When Apple hired Browett, CEO Tim Cook said, “Our retail stores are all about customer service, and John shares that commitment like no one else we’ve met. We are thrilled to have him join our team and bring his incredible retail experience to Apple.”
