Cupertino, California-based Apple Inc has announced today that it is set to announce the financial results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2009 (the second calendar quarter) on Tuesday, July 21, 2009. The company will announce results that cover sales from March 28, 2009 through June 26, 2009, while a conference call that will discuss the results is set to take place at 2:00 PM Pacific Time (5:00 PM EDT) and will also be available through a live audio webcast.

“Apple will provide live audio streaming of its FY 09 Third Quarter Results Conference Call using Apple’s industry-leading QuickTime multimedia software. The live webcast will begin at 2:00 p.m. PDT on July 21, 2009 at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/qtv/earningsq309/ and will also be available for replay for approximately two weeks thereafter. Viewers simply need a copy of QuickTime 6 or QuickTime 7 to listen to the conference call. QuickTime 7 is available from www.apple.com/quicktime,” is what the company states.

According to some analysts, the company is expected to post net earnings of $1.16 per share, while the revenue should be of $8.16 billion, more than what it previously predicted ($0.95-$1.00 profit on revenue of $7.7-$7.9 billion). For comparison, Apple posted net earnings of $1.19 per share and a revenue of $7.46 billion for the third fiscal quarter of last year.

It's a common fact that Apple released some of the top products only in the last part of the quarter, including the 13" aluminum MacBook's rebranding as a MacBook Pro, as well as the revamped MacBook Pro line and an updated MacBook Air in early June (at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference). At the same time, the new iteration of iPhone, the 3GS, was launched on the market only one week before the end of the quarter.

Apple has also announced today that the conference call will be available as “a continuous rebroadcast beginning Tuesday, July 21 at 5:00 p.m. PDT/8:00 p.m. EDT through Tuesday, August 4 at 5:00 p.m. PDT/8:00 p.m. EDT.” Those who would like to access it should dial-in the (888) 203-1112 (toll-free) or (719) 457-0820 number and enter the 2531481 confirmation code.
