Now it’s much easier to add your friends' pictures with Apple’s MobileMe Gallery app for iPhone and iPod touch. Apple has updated the software, making it possible to add multiple galleries with just a couple of taps. Users select "Add a Friend," the MobileMe Gallery app searches the contacts list, and indicates which of their friends have MobileMe Galleries. A few taps is all it takes to add them all.

As Apple notes in the app’s description over at the iTunes App Store, MobileMe Gallery enables MobileMe subscribers to easily view their gallery photos and movies directly on the iPhone or iPod touch. "Just enter your MobileMe member name and password to see a list of your published albums and movies," the iPhone maker explains.

"A scrolling sampler at the top of the app gives you easy access to recent photos. Select an album with a tap and then flick back and forth through photos, pinch to zoom, or rotate your iPhone to landscape view. MobileMe Gallery app automatically stores photos you’ve viewed, so you can view them again even if you don’t have a network connection," the company whose latest creation, the iPad, is launching this weekend, says.

Users simply choose their friends’ name from the contact list, or enter their MobileMe member name, and they can instantly view their gallery, as long as they’ve shared them publicly. Apple posts the following key features of the MobileMe Gallery app:

- View your entire gallery including password protected and hidden albums; - Flick through photos and pinch to zoom in for more detail; - Rotate iPhone to see photos in landscape; - View your friends’ gallery photos and movies; - Access previously viewed photos when offline; - Easily share a link to an album from iPhone.

Now that the software has been updated to version 1.1, MobileMe Gallery adds an option to add multiple friends with MobileMe galleries at once, directly from your contacts, according to the release notes. In addition to various stability improvements, Apple has also added support for Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Italian, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Swedish. MobileMe Gallery is compatible with all iPhone and iPod touch models and requires iPhone OS 3.1 or later. To use the app as intended, customers also need to have a MobileMe subscription.

When it announced the introduction of MobileMe Gallery in January 2010, Apple touted the app as featuring iPhone and iPod touch-optimized controls, beautiful gallery displays, and the ability to make browsing photos and videos easier and more interactive than ever before. In a natural manner, the app was provided free of charge to whomever would want to download it onto their device.
