Apple today is set to open the doors to its International retail stores early, in anticipation of the new iPad’s release, as well as the launch of the third-generation TV box which outputs 1080p video.

Apple this week issued a press release to double-confirm the launch date of its amazing new iPad which boasts a Retina display (2048x1536 resolution / 3.1 million pixels), an enhanced iSight camera, and LTE wireless, as well as a slightly altered design.

The improvements may not seem big at first glance, but the Retina display promises to enhance the tablet experience tenfold. Speaking to the number 10, Apple’s new iPad retains the legendary 10-hour battery life, or so says the product’s fact sheet.

The new tablet is set to go on sale today, at 8:00 AM local time in all the confirmed territories: US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, the UK, Puerto Rico; and the US Virgin Islands.

In March (on the 23rd, to be more specific) the new iPad will start selling in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Macau, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

The base WiFi model with 16 gigs of Flash storage sells for $499 in the US, and costs 399 € in European territories. The higher specced the iPad, the higher the price.

Not surprisingly, Apple didn’t send out a press release to double-confirm the launch of its second new product - the third-generation Apple TV.

Still regarded as a “hobby” within the confines of 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California, the Apple TV now does 1080p video and features iTunes Movies and TV Shows, Netflix, Photos and more, all in HD.

Visit your local Apple store to buy these products if you haven’t ordered one already. At least as far as the iPad is concerned, you’ll not be able to have one shipped to your door for another two weeks (in some cases, three weeks).

Your best bet is to visit your local Apple store, or one of the retailers carrying the tablet (Best Buy, Radio Shack, Sam’s Club, Target and Walmart in the US).
