Apple has posted a new tip for iTunes users advising them to skim through user reviews as means of determining whether something is worth downloading or not.

Needless to point out, it’s always best to trust your own judgement, but Apple does have a point when it says “When you find a review you agree with in the iTunes Store, it's easy to discover more content you might like through other reviews by the same person.”

“When looking at a review in the Movies, TV Shows, App Store, Podcasts, Audiobooks, and iTunes U sections, just click the reviewer's name on the left to go to a page listing all their reviews,” Apple instructs.

As far as music is concerned, users can click All Reviews By This Reviewer to be taken directly to their Ping profile.

Those who already use iTunes to post their own reviews are being informed that their full name will automatically be used if they've opted into Ping.

“Otherwise you'll be asked to create a nickname the first time you post, which will then be used for all your reviews so others can follow your opinions as well,” Apple outlines.

Although not confirmed via Inside iTunes - the official resource for news, updates, and tips from the iTunes team - Apple has recently modified the rules based on which a person can post an application review on its iTunes App Store.

Those who’ve downloaded applications with promo codes can no longer post any impressions on the platform. In other words, only those who’ve legitimately bought an app will be able to post a review.
