It's been tried before, and ended in failure, but they're giving it a second try

Apple and Samsung have been fighting each other in various courts around the world for years, ever since the first Samsung Galaxy Tab showed up and Apple said it was a copy of the iPad.

They tried to settle things, or rather authorities forced them to sit down and talk things out, but all attempts failed.

Now, though, the companies are getting together for a mediation session, which will take place by February 19.

It is the second official mediation session, and we can only hope that the third time does not have to be the charm, because it would mean failure now and, by extension, another year of patent battles, damage payment claims and annoyed judges.

San Jose, California District Judge Lucy Koh has been overseeing the biggest fight and is the one who, once again, is trying to get them to stop hostilities.
