Another killer design from Italy’s ADR Studio that begs to be materialized

Designer Antonio De Rosa with ADR Studio has dropped in on Twitter with a link to his new iPhone Plus concept based on “hundred[s] of voices, scoops and descriptions” circling around the web.

The rumor mill is what caused the iPhone Plus concept, says De Rosa.

“The mystery just starts around its name: what’s the new iPhone name? iPhone 5? New iPhone? Simply iPhone? We’ve thought a new concept for you, with a summary of these features.”

“Like Macintosh Plus, iPhone Plus is the real evolution of iPhone concept,” De Rosa Continues. “It arrives 5 years after the first unveiling, on January 2007 and it brings to us the most advanced technology ever seen on a smartphone.”

And now for the juicy stuff.

De Rosa and his crew envision a Liquidmetal body - “thermoformed on a single plane, no junctions needed;” a screen with double alkali-aluminosilicate sheet glass, a 4.3″ Retina Display with In-Cell technology; the much-rumored A6 quad core processor; a rear motion sensor; a slimmer dock connector, and an overall slimmer design, of course.

The rear camera is 10.0 Megapixel, f/2.4, 1080p Full HD video at 30 frames/s; the front camera is 2.0 Megapixel (VGA), 480p VGA video at 30 frame/s.

The phone would be equipped with a top pico-projector to beam photos and videos on any type of surface, and the Home button would be “fully capacitive,” meaning not physical.

“iPhone Plus is a giant leap in the future of the smartphones,” says De Rosa. “It’s the Non Plus Ultra smartphone,” he concludes.

It has become imperative for Apple to completely refresh its iPhone business this year, particularly from a design point of view. This concept seems perfect for the task. Competition would be blown out of the water. Smartphone after smartphone would be dead on arrival almost a full year after this thing launched to market.

We’d like to thank ADR Studio for delighting us with their unique iPhone design which truly makes one wish Apple is developing the same thing in their labs. Check out the full image gallery at adr-studio.it.
