Apple has taken its online store down in anticipation of the Black Friday deals it is about to post on store.apple.com. The Mac maker has already posted a preview of today’s holiday shopping event, confirming the discounts on Macs, iPods, the iPad, and several accessories that go great with all the above.

Earlier this week, Apple posted a teaser confirming that “dozens of great iPad, iPod and Mac gifts” were to be offered on November 26, the day Apple and other hardware & software vendors celebrate Black Friday this year.

Most commonly associated with special sales and promotions that retailers use to encourage shoppers to use the holiday weekend for shopping, Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States. Traditionally, it has been regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.

“The special one-day Apple shopping event. November 26,” Apple said a few days back. “Come back to the Apple Online Store the day after Thanksgiving for a special one-day-only holiday shopping event. You’ll find dozens of great iPad, iPod, and Mac gifts for everyone on your list,” the company stated.

“Mark your calendars now. And until then, get started by browsing the Apple Online Store for great ideas,” Apple’s message said.

The Cupertino-based electronics giant posted another teaser yesterday (screenshot above), encouraging customers to start making their lists and come back the day to follow to shop.

The deals posted by Apple as a preview of today’s shopping event are:

iMac – $1098 (save $101) MacBook Pro – $1098 (save $101) MacBook Air – $1198 (save $101) iPod Nano – $138 (save $11) iPad – $458 (save $41) iPod touch – $208 (save $21)

Other deals are available for iPad cases, iPad camera connection kit, Apple wireless keyboard, iPad docks, and headphones.
