Vista is on the menu...

The results of Apple's last quarter show that Mac sales are stronger than ever, and there can be no doubt that the 'Get A Mac' campaign had a big hand in selling those Macs. Whether because of their humor, characters or simply because of the truth of them, the 'Get A Mac' ads have proven to be a huge success, and they are far from over. Amidst record sales numbers, Apple has released new 'Get A Mac' ads. Four in number, the ads continue in the same style as their predecessors, but are this time aimed at Microsoft's Vista.

The first shows PC making a very informed choice about which version of Vista he is going to get, by spinning a wheel. The PC character mimics the confusion that many face when upgrading to Vista, because there are so many versions, all with typical Microsoft names. The Vista choice is not a simple one, because of the fear of getting a version that does not have all the features users need, and the possibility of spending too much money on a version that has too many features, many of which will never be used. The second one features 'PC' desperately trying to get out of the ad in order to find new drivers for its existing hardware, after upgrading to Vista. The third ad shows the lack-luster reaction towards Vista, which after five years in development is not anywhere near revolutionary and has been a cause of problems for many users. The amount of time it took Microsoft to get Vista out of the door is emphasized by the planning of the party for the next release of Microsoft's operating system, which cannot take place in five years, nor in five years and one day. The fourth commercial has nothing to do with Vista, and is instead focused on Apple's retail stores. The Genius that appears in the commercial is meant to emphasize that Apple Store employees are there to help customers get the information and service they need.

All of the commercials are humorous, especially if you are a Mac fan, though Vista lovers might not appreciate them as much.
