The company headquartered at One Infinite Loop, Cupertino, California has just sent out invitations to a media event hosted on January 27 in San Francisco, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. For those who think they’ve heard this before, your ears aren’t playing tricks on you. It appears Apple has taken the first step in confirming its “latest creation” - the tablet.

Engadget is the first to spread the word that Apple has started sending out invitations to its January 27 event, in what looks like preparation for quite the announcement. The invitations, featuring the Apple logo in the middle of several colorful paint splatters, bear the message: “Come see our latest creation.” With this in mind, and knowing Apple’s MO, we can’t think of anything else but tablet. Still, Apple will have the final say in this.

Earlier this month, a report by Digital Daily revealed that Apple had booked a stage at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco around January 27. The already intense speculation surrounding a possible Apple tablet soon reached critical levels, with multiple rumor-focused sources dishing out potential clues related to the product’s existence. In usual manner, Apple has been mum.

However, there is serious reason to believe a totally new device is going to bear the Apple logo. The Mac maker has reportedly tapped its suppliers for several parts that seem to make up something bigger than an iPhone, yet smaller, and more touch-focused than the MacBook. Softpedia went as far as claiming there’s a chance Apple’s tablet is actually just a better, slightly bigger iPhone. However, going by the looks of these invitations, we’re now inclined to believe there’s more “creativity” behind Apple’s latest work. It will all be revealed at the right time. So, what do you think it is? Use the comments at will.
