Apple is adding the final touch preparing for its iPod-related event on Sept. 9th, 2008 (tomorrow), which takes place at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (located in San Francisco) at 10:00 am (Pacific). Recent iPod and iTunes rumors seem very consistent with what the event holds for Apple fans and the media.

It is believed that Apple's upcoming event, named "Let's Rock", will bring updates to both the iPod line, and the iTunes media application, as well as a new firmware update for iPhone users. One reason to believe this is because it shows one of Apple's iPod silhouette marketing materials, reminiscent of its iPod ads. Thanks, in part, to the symbolical dubbing of the event, it is fair to assume that recent claims of a revamped (4G) nano, as well as an improved iPod touch, are likely to be announced on Sept 9th.

iTunes 8 has also made a few headlines, courtesy of all the “leaked” details over the past week. The new version of Apple's media player application is said to pack changes reflecting the upgraded iPod models, as reported earlier today (more details here).

However, in what is probably the strongest clue that Apple's event packs some serious news and updates, MacRumors notes that Apple is urging the media to attend this event, denoting it as a "big deal". Other claims say iPhone 2.1 is also being prepped for an official release, as soon as the event is underway.

According to the same source, the (alleged) highlights for Apple's Sept 9th event are,

- Apple telling reporters that this event will be a "big deal" and urging them to come, noting this does not appear to be typical practice for Apple - there will be iPhone news at the event - no live web coverage - links to all available coverage as well as SMS updates will be made available via Twitter.

Apple's “Let's Rock” event will take place on September 9th, 2008 at 10 a.m. Pacific (1 p.m. Eastern). Stay tuned for more details about the announcements occurring at tomorrow's event.
