Apple has posted new ads on the iPhone section of its website, following the same "there's an app for just about anything" trend. The ads ("Student," "Office," and "Itchy") emphasize the usefulness of the iPhone 3G and its ability to run just about any sort of app. The spots are available to watch in several sizes – Small, Medium, Large and HD.

In the ads, Apple stresses that there's an app for any situation users may find themselves in. For instance, Apartments lets them (students) find a place close to their whereabouts, while apps like CC terminal allow for business people to bring up a customer's order right on their iPhone screen. Apple also suggests that the iPhone is the best tool to run universally useful apps such as Howcast.

According to the folks at Howcast Media, Howcast for iPhone shows you fun, useful how-to videos wherever you happen to be. For instance, if you need a recipe while you're cooking a particular dish, or want to make a specific drink or cocktail, or if you are desperate to learn how to jump start or repair your car, the Howcast app will show you a video that will let you learn how.

Apple has specifically dubbed one of the three fresh ads "Itchy" with a focus on Howcast (iTunes link). According to Apple, Howcast can tell you "if that bush you're standing in is going to make you all itchy tomorrow," as it is also able to bring up videos on things like "How to recognize and avoid Poison Ivy." Since the app sounded fairly interesting, we hit up its iTunes page and found out that it also lets the user shake their iPhone to get a surprise video from Howcast's favorites, check out Howcast's Featured and Most Recent how-to videos, share videos with friends and even save a video to their list of Favorites.

As noted above, you can visit the iPhone section of Apple's website (here) and watch the latest ads online in various sizes. Older ads are also available to watch from the same page (just hit the blue arrow buttons to "go back in time").
