Apple’s Australian online store is showing price cuts for all existing iPad models, including the popular fourth-generation iPod touch which now starts at A$ 259.00 for the 8GB version.

Pointed out to 9to5mac by a number of Australian Apple fans, the news should be welcomed not only by customers living down under, but also by folks living in other territories where price cuts might also be in order.

It is also reported that 3rd party retailers in the country have been caught off guard by the change, and are yet to reflect the price drops themselves.

For reference, the complete list of price cuts for every iPod model featured at store.apple.com/au is available below.

Recently, Apple has been rumored to plan the discontinuation of the iPod classic.

A price drop for this particular model only would have undoubtedly refueled such speculation, but now that all iPods are being discounted on Apple’s Australian store, users should rest assured that no such plans are going into effect any time soon.

An alleged email from Apple CEO Steve Jobs also appeared to deny the rumor, though that conversation has not been confirmed as 100 percent legitimate.
