Apple is using the News and Announcements section of its Developer web site to remind those enrolled with the company’s programs that iTunes Connect will be unavailable between December 23 and December 28.

iTunes Connect is a suite of web-based tools that allow Apple devs to submit and manage their applications for distribution on the App Store.

iTunes Connect lets them check the status of their contracts, set up tax and banking information, obtain sales and finance reports, request promotional codes, manage users, applications, metadata, and the in-app purchase catalog.

The application is intended for use by persons who either own or control a catalog of content for digital distribution, or are an authorized representative of someone who does.

iTunes connect was recently opened to Mac Developer Program members as well.

On its Developer site, Apple has an “important notice” for individuals enrolled with the company’s iOS and Mac developer programs: “iTunes Connect Holiday Shutdown Dec 23 - Dec 28.”

“iTunes Connect will be temporarily unavailable from Thursday, December 23 through Tuesday, December 28. iTunes Connect access will resume on Wednesday, December 29,” Apple states.

Developers are not to schedule price changes or availability dates during the shutdown, the Cupertino giant claims.

“Pricing changes scheduled during the shutdown will not be reflected on the App Store and will result in your app becoming unavailable for purchase,” Apple notes.

“If you select an availability date that occurs during the scheduled holiday shutdown, your app will not go live on the App Store until iTunes Connect resumes business on December 29. Please plan your releases accordingly,” Apple’s advice goes.

As a reminder, the Mac maker asks Mac coders to note that they may not submit an app name that is already being used by an iOS app on the App Store.
