Apple has posted the official iTunes Festival London 2011 application for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, allowing music fans to check out an in-depth lineup that includes the likes of Coldplay, Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, Moby and others.

The app’s official description goes:

31 nights. 62 bands. 1 official app.

This July, the iTunes Festival returns to London, England. Featuring 31 consecutive nights of incredible live music in one of the UK’s best venues, this is the hottest ticket in town. The lineup includes Coldplay, Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, Paul Simon, Bruno Mars, Adele, My Chemical Romance, Duran Duran, Lang Lang and Moby — to name just a few of the great shows you can watch live on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Music fans are encouraged to grab the free iOS application so that they can get a better look at each artist and what they have in store for them, get schedules and the sorts.

iOS device owners can also use the apps to watch the shows on demand, live.

“Download the official app now to explore the lineup in more detail and watch the shows LIVE or on demand for a limited period from wherever you are in the world,” says Apple.

The software is AirPlay-supported, meaning that everything you play on your iOS device’s screen can also be streamed to a television set, so you can enjoy the entire festival with your friends around you.

“You can even invite your friends to watch on the big screen with AirPlay support for streaming the gigs to your Apple TV,” the app’s description adds.

Since we’re on the topic, we’d like to remind you that Apple may use AirPlay as that ‘go-to-market’ strategy to capture even more of our living rooms.

According to one ex Apple staffer, Apple is already working on it. Read more here.
