The hackers answer questions from representatives of the media

The guys from the Chronic Dev Team and the iPhone Dev Team, also known as the Dream Team, have taken center stage here in Amsterdam at the 2012 edition of the world renowned Hack in the Box (HITB) conference. Just before the event ended, the hackers held a press conference to answer a few questions.

Since they were probably the celebrities of the moment in Amsterdam, a fairly high number of media representatives showed up, eager to ask interesting questions. And the truth of the matter is that the answers given by the jailbreakers were nothing short of excellent.

In reality, before we’ve met them in person, we expected them to avoid a lot of questions, but they turned out to be a great, open collective that tried to provide as many explanations as they could, without giving away their “secret recipe,” of course.

One important thing that’s worth mentioning is that the press conference took place right after the Chronic Dev Team - more precisely, Nikias, David, Joshua and Cyril - announced the availability of the new Absinthe 2.0 - iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak.

As expected, the news was welcomed with massive applause from those attending HITB and particularly their Absinth presentation.

The bottom line is that everyone leaves satisfied from the Hack in the Box 2012 Amsterdam conference. Some got to see and learn a lot of new things, some got their long-awaited jailbreaks, some were able to bask in their moment of glory, and other simply got the satisfaction of covering excellent topics and sharing them with the world.

As we have mentioned before, we had a great interview with the members of the Dream Team, which we’ll publish sometime next week. So stay tuned to find out even more from the hacker group whose work will probably be mentioned in the books that will cover the Cupertino company’s history.

So without further ado, here’s the press conference:
