Hot on the heels of confirming the expansion of iAds to Europe last month, Apple is now telling enrolled developers that iAd is coming to new territories, via a note published on its Developer website.

Built into iOS 4, iAd lets users stay within their current app while engaging with an ad, even while watching a video, playing a game or using in-ad purchase to download an app or buy content from iTunes.

“iAd Expanding to New Countries,” reads one of the many updates posted by Apple on the News and Announcements section of its Developer area.

“Beginning in December, iAd rich media ads will be available for apps on the UK and France App Stores, with Germany to follow in January,” Apple states.

“And apps on the Japan App Store will be able to serve iAd rich media ads beginning in early 2011.”

Those who are not already part of the iAd Network are encouraged to pick up on this “this growing opportunity to create a significant new revenue stream,” Apple claims.

“Apple sells and serves the ads and you receive 60 percent of the advertising revenue generated,” the Mac maker explains, trying to entice potential subscribers.

In a November 18 report, the Cupertino giant confirmed that iAd was scheduled to debut in Europe with ads from L’Oréal, Renault, Louis Vuitton, Nespresso, Perrier, Unilever, Citi, Evian, LG Display, AB InBev, Turkish Airlines and Absolute Radio.

Renault was the first to follow with an announcement, confirming plans to launch Europe's first Apple iAd on December 2, with a campaign for Renault Twizy, its new 100% electric tandem-style city car.

“iAd is Apple's revolutionary new mobile advertising network, reaching millions of iPhone and iPod touch users right in their favorite apps,” Renault officials said.

The car maker added that efforts made to become the first iAd campaign launch in Europe were “furthering its mobile strategy to develop marketing, communication and service solutions with leading names in their industries.”
