Apple has just released confirmation that its all-new Mac Pro (Late 2013) workstation is rolling out tomorrow across the globe with a starting price of $2,999 (€2,181).

Previously slated to go on sale in December, the new Mac Pro finally got a definitive launch date minutes ago, with Apple announcing in a press release that “The all-new Mac Pro will be available to order starting Thursday, December 19.”

The all-new Mac Pro features the newest breed of Intel Xeon processors, dual GPUs, PCIe-based flash storage, and fast ECC memory, for a top-notch desktop experience.

The price is certainly a match: $2,999 (€2,181), and that’s just for the entry-level model.

“Designed around an innovative unified thermal core, the all-new Mac Pro packs unprecedented performance into an aluminum enclosure that is just 9.9-inches tall and one-eighth the volume of the previous generation,” Apple says.

Depending on which configuration you pick, the new Mac Pro can ship with 4-core, 6-core, 8-core or 12-core Intel Xeon processors with Turbo Boost speeds of up to 3.9 GHz.

The system packs not one, but two AMD FirePro graphics processors which, according to Apple, “deliver up to eight times the graphics performance of the previous generation Mac Pro.”

The Cupertino giant is quick to include an asterisk explaining the conditions in which the Mac Pro was benchmarked.

The PCIe-based flash storage promises to deliver blazing-fast read & write speeds, while the ECC DDR3 RAM reportedly “gives the new Mac Pro up to 60GBps of memory bandwidth for seamlessly editing full-resolution 4K video while simultaneously rendering effects in the background.”

“With an incredible six Thunderbolt 2 ports, each with up to 20Gbps of bandwidth per device, the new Mac Pro completely redefines desktop expandability with support for up to 36 high-performance peripherals, including the latest 4K displays,” the company adds.

Full specs, pricing, and availability can be found in Apple’s official announcement.
