Apple has announced the availability of its iTunes Connect Mobile app, a tool aimed at iOS developers looking to review their sales, watch trends, and build a strategy to ensure the success of their apps. In a separate announcement, Apple explains how to take full advantage of the Retina display on iPhone 4. Cupertino also introduced a new version of the iTunes Connect Developer Guide recently, via its iPhone Dev Center.

On the News and Announcements section of the iPhone Dev Center, Apple explains that, “The iTunes Connect Mobile (iTC Mobile) app for iPhone allows you to review your sales and related trends, and make informed business decisions while you're on the go. You can also view your aggregated unit sales information by product line (e.g., paid apps, free apps, In-App purchases), market (e.g., U.S., France) and individual product. Your information is displayed graphically and can be customized to view select periods of time.”

Available as a free download from Apple’s App Store, the iTC Mobile app can only be obtained by registered Apple developers. An iTC Mobile User Guide is also available from the homepage of iTunes Connect, for detailed instructions on how to take advantage of all the features.

As noted above, in a separate announcement dated July 14, Apple encourages iPhone devs to upload high resolution screenshots and icons for their applications, in order to take full advantage of the Retina display on iPhone 4. Programmers can upload a hi-res small app icon and hi-res screenshots for their apps using iTunes Connect. A Technical Q&A for app icons on iPad and iPhone is available, alongside the freely downloadable iTunes Connect Developer Guide, now at version 5.6.

The latest version of the iTunes Connect Developer Guide includes updated information on enabling an app for iAd rich media ads and the iAd Network module in iTunes Connect, support for requesting promo codes, fetching crash logs on demand, and  requirements for submitting high resolution screenshots and small icons.
